Do you know how to edit this script to use it with a serial cable (port8)?

No script needed for serial port to access RedBoot: parameters 9600,8,n,1, then type CTRL-C to get RedBoot prompt

If you want to shell access running Fonera+ with serial port, you need to unlock it before (hack includes serial port console + SSH for ethernet)
